Privacy policy

Boop is a soundboard app for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains what information Boop handles and how. The short version: Boop does not collect, sell, or share your personal information, and we never see your sounds.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. Boop has no user accounts, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking or data collection tools.

2. Information Stored on Your Devices

To work, Boop keeps the following on your devices:

• Audio files you choose to import from the Files app or other locations on your iPhone. If you trim a sound during import, Boop saves the trimmed copy.
• Information about your sounds, such as their names, length, order, and whether each one is set to sync to your Apple Watch.
• App preferences, such as your preferred layout.

This information stays on your devices. We cannot access it.

3. Apple Watch Sync

If you use the Apple Watch app, Boop sends your sounds and their details from your iPhone to your paired Apple Watch over Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This transfer happens directly between your own devices. We never receive this data.

4. iCloud Backup

If iCloud is turned on for Boop, your sounds and their details are backed up to your private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit. This lets you restore your library after reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone.

• Your backup is stored in your own iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• We cannot access, read, or download your iCloud data.
• You can turn off iCloud for Boop at any time in the iOS Settings app. You can delete backed-up data from Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage.

5. Microphone, Location, Contacts, and Photos

Boop does not use your microphone, camera, location, contacts, or photo library.

6. Third Parties

Boop does not share any information with third parties. The only outside services it uses are Apple's built-in iCloud and Apple Watch features, which Apple operates under its own privacy policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Boop does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data stays on your devices and in your iCloud account for as long as you keep it there. You can delete individual sounds in the app. Deleting a sound removes it from your iPhone, your Apple Watch, and your iCloud backup. Uninstalling Boop removes its data from your device. Any iCloud backup stays until you delete it as described in section 4.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
