# Privacy Policy for Boop
**Effective Date:** April 30, 2026
## Overview
Boop is a soundboard app for iPhone with an Apple Watch companion. This policy explains what data the app handles and how.
## Data We Collect
**We collect no personal data.** Boop does not collect, transmit, or store any information about you or your usage to any server or third party.
## Data Stored on Your Device
Boop stores the following data **locally on your device only**:
- **Audio files** you import, saved to your device's Documents folder.
- **Sound names** you assign to imported files.
- **App preferences**, such as display mode and sync settings, stored in your device's local UserDefaults.
- **A manifest file** (`manifest.json`) that tracks the list of sounds and their sync state.
This data never leaves your device except as described under Apple Watch Sync below.
## Apple Watch Sync
If you have a paired Apple Watch with the Boop Watch app installed, the app transfers audio files and metadata to your Watch using Apple's **Watch Connectivity framework (WCSession)**. This transfer happens directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch over a local encrypted connection — it does not pass through any server or external network.
No data from this sync is sent to, stored by, or accessible to us.
## Analytics and Tracking
Boop contains **no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising SDKs, and no tracking of any kind.**
## Third-Party Services
Boop uses no third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. It makes no outbound network requests.
## Children's Privacy
Boop does not collect data from anyone, including children under 13.
## Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be made available through the App Store listing and/or within the app. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
